Grandparents’ Day in the Netherlands and Germany
In the run-up to Grandparents’ Day, we focus extra attention on all the grandparents in the Netherlands and Germany. With a large dose of love and a bit of humour, we offer ideas through content on our Dutch and German consumer sites Mooiwatbloemendoen.nl and Tollwasblumenmachen.de. There is also a Grandparents’ Day shopper activation in the German state of Bavaria.
Grandparents' Day was created as a special day for grandparents to give them an extra surprise. They are often important people in our lives who support us in a special way. In the Netherlands, we celebrate this day on 3 October, and a week later in Germany, on 10 October.
Special content
On Mooiwatbloemendoen.nl and Tollwasblumenmachen.de we respond to Grandparents’ Day with two bouquet recipes and fun DIY tips to do for or with grandmother or grandfather. These include suggestions for the most beautiful flowers to give as gifts, and DIY ideas for crafters big and small. Homemade vases do even more justice to the flowers being given.
Shopper activation Bavaria
We have also developed a shopper activation in collaboration with Fellini Foundation, FDF Bavaria, FleuraMetz, Chrysal and Berg Roses. This takes place in Bavaria and encourages consumers to buy the special edition 'Con Amore' rose from participating florists for a bouquet full of extra love for grandparents.

Content can be found on our Dutch and German consumer websites. We are also promoting this through the relevant Facebook and Instagram channels, and it forms part of our long-term online media support.
