Flowers as flowering connectors
The latest edition of the 'We Need More Flowers' campaign begins on 1 November. It will focus on the subject of loneliness. In the campaign, we show how flowers are social connectors, and how they can make a positive contribution to combating loneliness. This latest edition of the campaign is in response to the demand from the industry for an extra cut flowers campaign in the autumn. We Need More Flowers will run for three weeks in Germany and the Netherlands across various channels.

Loneliness theme
Loneliness is not a new phenomenon. More people than ever have experienced loneliness because of the coronavirus crisis, and it’s not only elderly people who are affected. We can combat loneliness by connecting with each other, and flowers are a perfect way to stimulate connection. Flowers bring people closer together and can often express more than words ever can.

Our communication
The core of the campaign will be the existing ten-second film, with new scenes added. There will also be new photography and a poster available. We will spread the message using the video on YouTube, mobile media (on smart phones), social media, and the use of influencers. The ‘flowers as flowering connectors’ theme will also be highlighted on the Dutch and German consumer websites Mooiwatbloemendoen.nl and Tollwasblumenmachen.de and their associated social media channels.

To join in with this consumer campaign you can make use of the campaign materials, which will be available on our Dutch and German websites from 26 October.
